Bergen Kunsthall, Bergen
Hygieia, consists of sculptures made from polished mild steel, ceramics and plastics. It examines hygienic materials and objects in relation to the human body. The sculptures adopt an anti-bodily language which balance between the corporeal and the artificial, the caring and the latently sinister. Through the emulation of clean surfaces and streamlined shapes the works ponder the relationship between function and the aesthetics of hygiene and cleanliness.
